THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL STUDY NOTES BY PAUL McGUIRE

I. A COMPARISON BETWEEN EZEKIEL’S VISION AND JOHN’S VISION IN REVELATION
1. In Ezekiel's Vision of the Chariot 1:4, the Prophet Ezekiel sees four living creatures. The Apostle John has a similar vision in Revelation 4. We that the Bible has supernatural continuity spanning millennium and thus the authorship of the Bible must be supernatural.
A) And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire unfolding itself, and brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man. And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings. And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the color of burnished brass. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings. Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
2. The vision from Ezekiel is practically identical to Revelation 4:
A) And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
3. Both John and Ezekiel have similar visions of the Throne of God in Ezekiel 1:26
A) And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as the color of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. Both Ezekiel and John describe God’s throne as surrounded by a rainbow and the glory of God.
B) The four living creatures appear to be angels. Here is a list of angels that God has created:
Michael – Archangel and Guardian of the nation of Israel.
Gabriel – God’s Messenger.
Seraphim – The term means “burning ones” or nobles, they are angels with six wings and two of the wings for flying. Seraphim are called “ones of love” and glorify and praise God.
Cherubim – Guardians who surround the throne of God and have two wings.
The four living creatures may be Seraphim, Cherubim or something else.
* We must remember there are fallen angels led by Lucifer (a fallen angel) who leads a rebellious army of fallen angels who are demons and evil spirits.

How do these truths apply to the false prophets in the Church today and how has the Evangelical Church fornicated with the gods of Personal, Peace & Prosperity while false prophets go on the "Larry King Show" and mock "fire and brimstone" preaching. Yet, God in Ezekiel 38 magnifies Himself among the unbelieving nations with "fury, the fire of Hs wrath, earthquakes, judgment, pestilence, bloodshed, great hailstones, fire and brimstone..." God teaches the nations in Ezekiel 38 that He is the Lord through "fire and brimstone" preaching. So much for the false prophets who ridicule God's method of communication. Book of Ezekiel 4 Chapters 40-48
